Mustaches for Kids

Next week, for the first time since my Junior year of college, I'll will be clean-shaven. Why would I do such a thing? In November? In Chicago? For a good cause of course!

That's right, I'm going to be growing a Mustache for Kids! Over the next month, I will shave, and then grow a mustache. I will take pictures of myself clean-shaven, and on the way to mustache glory. Then, in mid-December, I will display my mustachioed visage upon the intertubes. And there will be much rejoicing. Right up till TBWITWW makes me shave and start over on the beard.

How does this help kids? Well, that's where you come in. You can pledge a donation to encourage the mustache-y goodness, and I will do my best to keep you entertained with my mustachosity. All money donated will benefit the Off the Street Club, a group that provides a place for kids to go to get away from guns, drugs and violence. It's a worthy cause, and fun too!

If you'd like to pledge, send me an e-mail at This Address.

I knew you'd do it. In countries where mustache is spelled Moustache, it's called "Movember"
Google it.

Aaaaaaaaaaanyway. I'll be happy to make fun of you along the way.

What's your personal involvement in Off the Street Club? And is a religious connection to the group? And I assume it's a 501(c)(3) group?

Feel free to email me answers, but I thought they might be questions other people were interested in as well. Overall, I'm interested. I'm also in Chicago and have been sorting through information to make year-end donations.

Actually, Movember is a pale imatation in my opinion. (M4K has been around about 5 years longer.) But anything that combines mustache growing and charity can't be all bad.

In response to Dariaclone's questions, I don't have any personal connection to the OTSC, beyond having read their information, and I feel it's a cause I can support. I don't see anything in the information that suggests that they are connected to any particular religious group, and they've been around over 100 years. It is a 501(c)(3) organization, and has been since 1962. Let me know if you have any more questions!
