I've received my first sponsorship in the Mustaches for Kids Campaign, and it was a very generous donation to the Off the Street Club. While I won't name the donor publicly without permission, I wanted to thank them for their support in a public way. I'll be adding a progress bar later today, and this donation will make a big difference. Tonight is the first checkpoint, so we'll all get to see what a week's worth of mustache looks like on me.

A few things I've learned this week...

  • Facial hair is good insulation. My face is cold!
  • Most people don't really know what other people look like. I've had at least 3 people, who* I see several times a week, not realize that I had shaved my beard off, and at least two people who "like my haircut". I haven't cut my hair at all.
  • Shaving is as big a pain in the butt as I remembered. Chins are shaped funny.
  • I need to step up my fundraising
  • I'm probably not going to reach my goal of a Jamie Hyneman-esque 'stache.

Would you donate if I set up a paypal link for it on this page?

*I know that the word "whom" is appropriate here, but I've decided that "whom" is officially archaic, as it's not used in common speech. I see no reason to continue using it in written language.
