25 Things

Yeah, I'm on Facebook, and actually do use it (unlike several other sites that I have accounts on, but don't actually use). So I've been tagged several times in the "25 Things" meme and figure I'll give it a shot.

Rules: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

  1. I've been clean-shaven twice since high school, once because I was in make-up class, and once for Mustaches for Kids
  2. I've cut my own hair since January of 1996 when I shaved it off on a whim. It hasn't been more than about an inch long since.
  3. I have a sock obsession. Once a sock has been put on, it's dirty and can't be put back on until it's been washed, even if it was on for less than a minute.
  4. I'm addicted to the written word. I read just about everything I get my hands on: book, magazines, cereal boxes, ads on the bus. 10,000 pages a year is not unusual.
  5. Nicole and I do at least one crossword puzzle every Sunday.
  6. I offend and annoy people often. I almost never do it on purpose, and frequently don't understand how I did it.
  7. I've owned at least one pair of Chucks at any given time since high school. Once I gave my parents Chucks for Mother's and Father's day
  8. My preferred day-to-day shoes are boots and have been since high school.
  9. Green is my favorite color
  10. I've only broken one bone in my life, and that was a minor fracture from hitting my hand on the door frame while chasing my cat.
  11. I've learned more about my Mom, Dad and brother in the last few years than in the 18 years living with them.
  12. I have a 3/5" bolt as my key chain. I've also had that since High School.
  13. Sometimes when we play Guitar Hero, I do the singing part. I'm very, very, very bad at it. Even Dean thinks I'm bad.
  14. I was only 14 when I met my wife.
  15. Nicole and I make plans for when we win the lottery. We never buy tickets.
  16. I've been a pallbearer several times. It's the worst way to feel honored.
  17. I think Chicago is the greatest city on earth despite all evidence to the contrary.
  18. I have no tattoos, but I've planned more than a dozen.
  19. I am still friends with my first girlfriend.
  20. I worked in the basement of a doll store for 8 years. I actually enjoyed large portions of it, and worked with some fantastic people.
  21. The greatest sound in the world his Dean's belly laugh.
  22. I love my wife's cooking. Especially when she makes it up as she goes along.
  23. I still have no idea what I want to do to make a living.
  24. The future terrifies me.
  25. I can't wait for it to get here
