Money Grubbing Bastard

I used to have Google Ads on this site. However, after about 2 years, I'd earned a whopping $4. So I figured there was no benefit to keeping the ads up. But, given that I likes my toys, but can't justify spending family money on them. So the conclusion I came to was I'll let the readers of this site buy my toys. By my estimate, I should be able to afford roughly 1 paper-back book a year. Anyway...

I added a "donate" link to the side bar. If you like this site, and want to contribute to my toy fund, I'd appreciate your support. But I don't think it's fair to ask for money without giving something in return. So, if I get any donations, I'll post a tally. And when I use those donations to buy something, I'll write a complete post about what I bought and why. But, since I also expect that due to my low posting frequency, and related low readership, I'll probably get very few donations (at least for a while). So, anyone who donates at least a dollar gets to pick a topic for me to write about. So, there you go. Of course, if people think it's horrible, I'll make the link go away. Enjoy.

Broken Comments

Apparently I did something to screw up commenting with my custom theme. I'll have to trouble shoot it, but until then, I'll be using a different theme. If you left a comment recently, and it never showed up, please leave it again. Thanks!

Habari Test

Well. I’ve converted my current theme (with a few minor adjustments) for habari and installed it. It seems to be working well at the moment, although the importer did not get the pages (most of which would not work anyway). Also the search function is broken. I’ll see what I can do about those in the next few days. I’m pretty happy with it so far. Still needs some tweaking, but I’m definiately getting there. Check it out.

EDIT: Now, it's up and running as the main site. Please let me know if you find any major problems.
