The tear in my beer.

Bell's makes my favorite beers. (Actually, they make one of the only beers my non-beer-drinking wife likes too.) Unfortunately it's going to be harder to get them. The franchise to sell Bell's in Illinois, was apparently put up for sale. They buyer was a large "less than friendly" company that the owner of Bell's didn't want to work with, so he's pulling the beer from Illinois as a form of protest.

While I applaud Mr. Bell's decision, I'm saddened by the effect it will have on us, the people who appreciate good beer.

Swap-o-Rama

Yesterday, TBWITWW and I went to the Swap-O-Rama on Ashland. It's a giant flea market and it's freakin sweet. There's a $1.00 admission charge, and probably 200 or so vendors. You can get just about anything it seems... fresh fruit, work clothes, cable service, tools electronics, toys, porn, haircuts... Quality ranges from found-in-a-dumpster-and-wiped-off to brand-new-still-in-box. Although we didn't buy anything on this trip, we definitely got our dollars' worth of people-watching and entertainment.
Parking is... "interesting" and it can be quite crowded, but definitely worth the trip.

Perspective

A friend sent me an e-mail with a few pictures of the Picasso in Daley Plaza. The first two were fairly standard shots... the third is the interesting one. Sculpture should be designed to be viewd from all sides, but many times people only really look at the front view. How many pictures of David's backside do you see? Apparently the Picasso included a profile of his wife in the sculpture. See if you can find it.picassoAnd the next time you're looking at a sculpture, walk around it and see what you can find.
