So I feel like I've been a bit of a stalker of Chris J Davis lately. What can I say, the guy is cool. Oh well. I've installed his "Lifestream" plugin and have made some adjustments. Although it's not really supported any more I'm liking it. I added Library thing to it so it'll track when I add books. I'm thinking about throwing in Netflix as well, but I'll probably wait a bit until I can use the Habari version. I'm going to make an attempt to convert this blog sometime soon. If I do it right you should notice very little difference when it happens. (In reality, I'll probably screw it up royally and have to reinstall things 2 or three times, 'cause that's just how I roll.) I actually like this theme enough that I'm going to stick with it. So it'll be a fun conversion process. I'll keep everyone posted.
So, I'm updating things a little bit around here to take advantage of some of Habari's features, which is causing some of my old posts to appear in my feed. Sorry about that. It'll probably happen a few more times.
•[ 0]Two things: If you have a personal blog, periodically go back and read your old entries see who you used to be. Also, Give me a topic.
•[ 0]Our food blog is back with a vengance. Check that bad boy out:
TBWITWW wants us to update it daily, so hopefully it'll be interesting.
I'm a slacker. I haven't posted since TBWITWW's Birthday (Actually the day before... not because I forgot when her birthday was, but rather because I've been just that little bit off so I'm not sure what day it actually is on a regular basis.)
Anyway... it's been a while. We've moved, gotten settled in, gotten pregnant, miscarried, both of my parents have gotten re-married. (Hi Yvonne and Jesse!). So there's my life in a nutshell for the last 6 months. Wow... boring.
I also signed up for a MySpace account. Yeah I know. I had to take a couple showers afterwards. So, if there's anyone still reading this. What should I write about? I feel like I should update this more, since going back and reading stuff has reminded me of things I'd mostly forgotten otherwise.
I'm reading The Confusion by Neal Stephenson right now. (Ooooh... it's a link to LibraryThing, which is the coolest nerdfest on the net in my book.)
I also just picked up a copy of American V: A Hundred Highways by Johnny Cash. Rick Rubin deserves some kind of Nobel Prize or McArthur grant for helping Johnny Cash put out the brilliance that he did at the end of his life.
Anyone who wants to buy me a Canon 30D is more than welcome to.
Wow... this entry reads like something off of myspace. Crap.
Does every blog in the world have a post with this title?
I've spent a lot of time working with WordPress over the last year or so, and I've enjoyed much of it and learned much from it. I've make some friendships and even some money (not much mind you, but still...). Over the last few weeks, however, I've come to the conclusion that I'm done working with WordPress. I will still build themes and recommend it to people, and I'll keep using it because I do like the application. However, I don't think I'll be spending time in #wordpress for a while, and won't be keeping up even the small amount of participation in the codex and trac. (I realize, of course, to the WordPress community as a whole my dissappearance will not be noticed, and the small amount of help I have been will be covered by the many good people who are involved.) I simply no longer feel like a part of that community. As much of that is because I have had much less time and motivation to maintain my connection to the community as anything. Right now there is too much going on in my life to work on rebuilding that connection. I'm moving in the next three months, and whether that move will be across the city or across the country is undecided at this point.
As far as the people who read this are concerned, this will probably not affect you in the least. I'll keep up my usual Dickensian publishing schedule (Dickens schedule now, not when he was alive) and occasionally tell you more about my life than you want to know. But there it is.
The Blog is now running under WordPress 1.5 Strayhorn. Took some doing, but I'm no longer using myhacks.php If you find anything broken, let me know.
